Win-Cit-ay...and A.I., baby!

American Idol is about to return and I'm not sure I'm ready for it...

Last year, was by far, my favorite A.I in the history of the show. A.I. is what got us through our mundane jobs, it's what helped us make better/more friendships. It wasn't the show I loved, (Although, I was a David Cook fan FROM THE BEGINNING!!!) it was what the show brought to my life.

It was reading Gin's blog stuff that she emailed about the best and worst of the night. It was back and forth banter between J.A., Gin, Mary, etc. on who sucked and who didn't. It was creating your own commentary and defending your favorite idol wannabe, and of course making fun of KFC and her horse story.

Now, here I am, 2 and about a half hours away, and it just doesn't feel the same. I mean there are some clear front runners, and some total freaks...that if they make it, will be better to make fun of than Paula, but it's still not the same. I don't really even watch it. I Tivo, then fast forward through all the dumb crap, which includes all those cheesy commercials.

So, I guess I will watch it when it gets to the Top 12, and perhaps I will vote a time or 2, but it will never again be the way it was in 2008 at EDS, Winchester,KY...Holla!

To Catarina...just thinking of you.

Already Gone

My Mama mapped out the road that she knows
Which hands you shake and which hands you hold
In my hand-me-down Mercury, ready to roll
She knew that I had to go
And hang out, make lots of noise
And lay out late with a boy
Make the mistakes that she made 'cause she knew all along

I was already gone
I was already gone
I was already gone
Life is a runaway train you can't wait to jump on

They say the first time won't ever last
But that didn't stop me the first time he laughed
All my friends tried to warn me the day that we met
"Girl, don't you lose your heart yet"
But his dark eyes dared me with danger
And sparks fly like flame to a paper
Fire in his touch burning me up,
but still I held on

'Cause I was already gone
I was already gone
I was already gone
Life is a runaway train you can't wait to jump on

The last time I saw him, we packed up my things
And he smiled like the first time he told me his name
And we cried with each other
We split the blame for the parts that we couldn't change
Pictures, dishes and socks
It's our whole life down to one box
There he was waving goodbye on the front porch alone
But I was already gone
I was already gone
I was already gone
I was already gone
I was already gone

Hang out, make lots of noise
And lay out late with a boy
Make the mistakes that she made,
life is a runaway train
My mama mapped out the road that she knows
Which hands to shake, which hands you hold
In my hand-me-down Mercury
Life is a runaway train you can't wait to jump on

44

I was. I am a Hillary supporter. I do not lie about where my loyalty and vote goes...but, ultimately. I vote for the candidate that believes the way I do and one that sees the change that needs to occur in our world today.

I voted Obama.

I never fainted or swooned when I heard him speak before election night, but when he gave his acceptance speech in November, I sat up and listened. He made me want to believe that he could quite possibly change the world, at least the part I live in.

Today, that change will start and I look forward to watching it occur right before my eyes.

Jeep

OK, so I wanted a Cadillac.
Everyone keeps telling me this is an awesome new ride, but...I wanted a Cadillac.

However, it was not my turn to decide. After the buy-back from Toyota, it was really Mr. Chad's choice on what to get for us...and this was it.

Don't get me wrong, it is super nice vehicle. Nice and roomy, great for traveling, perfect for the girls and when new baby "H" comes along. The husband did a very good job on his selection.

Honey, I'm very happy with your choice.
