Hiking at Natural Bridge

First hike of the year--Natural Bridge.
Beautiful weather and  beautiful company.
Great day for everyone!

She is Queen of the World,
but not of the sky-lift!
 Top of the mountain,
with the Allens!

 Fat Man's Squeeze I.

 Fat Man's Squeeze II.

 The family, without Catarina,
with Natural Bridge in the background!

 Amazing rock formations!

 Natural Bridge

 A proper Arisaema triphyllum,
on our descent.

...and they lived happily ever after!

Yesterday a commoner,
Today royalty.
Every parents' dream.
Congratulations to Kate Middleton...
and the lucky Prince William.

Catarina's Senior Prom

My baby went to her Sr. prom this weekend
and was stunning, to say the least!
(Don't you love how they all looked so wonderful in white?)

She gave up "her" date to one of her friends,
just so "she" would go.
She, then, still went solo,
b/c of her affection for a boy
that could not make it at the last minute.
...and she let me, do her hair and make-up.
She wore my wedding dress,
and a yellow rose in her hair
from her father/stepmom's garden.
It was a magical time,
until she started back talking
b/c she thought she was going to be late
and didn't really let us take any photos!!!!!!!!
Oh, to be 18!
Mood swings, but only in front of Mom and Dad!

At the restaurant,
her check was picked up by the manager,
she babysits for him every now and then
and they are very appreciative of her.
(I thought that was a beautiful gesture
and a great reflection on Catarina's character.)

Overall, it was a great night per Catarina.
I was just happy that I got to share it with her!

An Ode to C2

No Joke.

Saturday, April 9, 2011

This was an hour it had melted some.
Truly, the size of baseballs!

Knocked the umbrella out of the table...
then destroyed all parts of it!

The hail was so sharp,
it ripped through the plastic grill cover
and the canvas on the swing!

The hubs lil' car
that he loves so much!
Both windows were broken out, too.
Poor Civic.

Look at the holes put in the ground.
It was horribly amazing!

WR4W...all about ETSY

I am sure most of you are aware of Etsy.
Handmade by "real" people for "real" people.
It is one of my favorite places on the web to shop for the perfect gift.
I truly believe, you can find most anything there...
and some of the wedding stuff is to die for.

There is nothing I like more than the perfect invite.
I think the invitation, wedding or otherwise,
sets the mood for the whole event..

For me, it tells me what is ahead,
and how much thought has gone into the event.
ETSY has some of the best invites on the web
Yes, they may cost more,
but people should notice the quality.

For instance,
my wed invites were printed on white linen paper.
Very classic.
However, it was a casual, chic wedding...
and to reflect that,
I punched out polka dots to add a lil' pizazz to them.
They were perfect for us!

Regardless, of what type of wedding you are planning,
I am sure you can find something you like on ETSY!

ACM...great show...lots of Rock 'n' Roll!

Loved the ACM awards this year...for the most part.
My fave performances were the collaborations:

...and what about
Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler!?
What did you think about it?

CATS v. UConn

Great day--momentum wise.
Not a great night.
Cats were off their game,
and it will keep them from playing in the championship.

Still love all the players, Coach Cal, etc.
but they may want to work on free throws
over the summer.
they are called free throws for a reason.

Good luck to the Butler Bulldogs
on Monday night...
and sorry,
Jim Calhoun,
I will never like you. EVER.

Fridays are for Crushin'

Ain't no April Foolin' here.
These are my crushes for today:

Great ideas and easy crafts and home decor.
A great DIY site for casual crafters.

Is there ever a time when the Beatles failed?
Not for me,
and this is one of their greatest masterpieces.
I never get tired of listening to it.

cheap and easy...
these type of dresses are great for everything,
Wear them to the beach,
or running errands,
or lounging in your own back yard.

Just want to take my "space" family
to the home of the biggest cover-up in history...
Area 51, baby!

Since the hubs has been feeling under the weather,
we started watching Bones on Netflix.
We love it.
It is soooo up his alley,
and I'm surprised that I really enjoy it too.
